Pottery Painting Instructions:

-All paints require 3 coats in order to come out a solid color and avoid seeing brush strokes once fired.  1 coat is translucent. 2 coats is semi-translucent. Allow paint to dry for 3-5 minutes between coats.

-Anything left unpainted will come out white and glossy after firing.

-Start with light colors first.  Lights do not show up if layered on top of darks.  Select light background colors. “Dark over light is always right!”

-Pencil burns off after firing so feel free to sketch designs on your piece with pencil.

-Make sure to only use our own paints on your ceramics. Do not use anything other than our ceramic underglaze paints on the pottery. No glitter, acrylics, sharpies, markers, crayons, stickers, etc.

Do not eat while you paint as the risk of food residue will damage the piece, making it not accept the glaze-paint anymore.

Sign your piece with paint! This can be your full name, initials, the date, etc.

-All Color Me Mine paints are non-toxic. They will not stain if spilled and can be easily cleaned using water.
